One of my favorite parts of running for office is meeting and helping people. I’ve had the great fortunate to meet some amazing people. And I’ve also had the opportunity to help some residents navigate city issues successfully. I look forward to having the chance to do more of that.
The question I’ve heard most from residents is — Why are you running?
I’m running for Strongsville City Council Member At-Large because the status quo isn’t good enough. Strongsville residents and families deserve a real choice for our future.

That starts with dealing with retail issues. Strongsville has 1.5 million square feet of retail at South Park Mall. We’ve got The Greens, plus we have The Great Escape Plaza, the Costco Plaza, and strip malls up and down Pearl Road. Given that brick-and-mortar retail stores are struggling across our country, re-zoning the former Medical Mutual office space as retail does not appear to be in the City’s best interest. In fact, leaving the Medical Mutual office space as office space would actually leave open the possibility of acquiring a business, with good paying jobs. Moreover, if even more retail is added to Royalton Road, the traffic nightmare will only be increased.
I think it’s time for our City Council to put families first and to make decisions that improve our residents’ everyday lives.
If you agree, I hope you’ll vote Kelly Kosek for Strongsville City Council on November 7 (or in early voting, starting October 11).
