In January 2018, I was appointed to Strongsville City Council to represent Ward 3. I am a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and lawyer.
Family is a priority for me. My parents are some of the hardest working, kindest, and most generous people I know. I also have two younger brothers, Chris and Andrew. They raised us to give back to our community. And that’s part of my motivation to serve Strongsville as a representative on City Council.
I went to Washington High School, where I graduated as the valedictorian in 1995. After high school graduation, I attended Allegheny College. When I graduated from Allegheny in 1999, I decided to go to law school at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. I graduated with my law degree in 2002.
During college, I met my husband, Jason Wheat. Jason is from Bakersfield, California. We got married in 2001, with plans to move to northeast Ohio after my law school graduation. We moved to the Cleveland area in May 2002, and bought our first home in University Heights. I started my first job as a lawyer at Thompson Hine LLP. In 2007, I left Thompson Hine to join Hahn Loeser and Parks LLP.
In 2010, Jason and I welcomed our first son, Sawyer. In 2012, I became a partner at Hahn Loeser & Parks. In 2014, my husband and I purchased a home in Strongsville and were excited to join Strongsville’s vibrant, family community.
In 2015, we were blessed with our second son, Beckett—he arrived on the day that Ohio State won the first College Playoff Championship! We affectionately refer to Beckett as Wreck-It Beckett.
Both of our children attend Strongsville City Schools. I believe that Strongsville’s success is linked to the school’s success. I want Council to work with the Strongsville City Schools School Board to ensure our city’s strong future.
I am always willing to answer any questions that you have about our city or our local government. I believe that my role as a Councilwoman is to help residents navigate city issues and to represent their interests on Council. I want to represent you and your family. I hope I will continue to have the opportunity to do so.
